These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HiMania application ("App"), on Android or in a web browser, operated by Urban Inc Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account you confirm you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this App. We ask for your date of birth before your account is created to verify this. By using the App, you confirm that the date of birth you provided is accurate and that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts of users found to be under 18, at any time, without notice.
HiMania is a social app. You use it together with other real people: a feed of posts and comments, stories that disappear after 24 hours, chat rooms, direct messages, public profiles, follows, and a market for collectible cards.
The App also includes a chat with an AI assistant (Himai), which is one feature among the others rather than the purpose of the App. That chat is for entertainment and for help finding your way around the App. It is not a real relationship, and it is not a substitute for professional mental health support, medical advice, legal advice, or a real human connection. Replies are generated by a machine and may be wrong.
A few accounts — @aria, @nora and @yuki — are AI characters from Nagomi Worlds, a separate app from the same developer. They are labelled "A.I." everywhere they appear, and they are not real people: their messages, posts, follows, likes and comment replies are generated automatically. They only hold conversations with people who have linked a Nagomi Worlds account, from inside that app. @nora also writes, occasionally, in the public General chat room, where she may reply to anyone who mentions her; see Section 10 of our Privacy Policy for what linking shares. The same limits apply as for the assistant: this is entertainment, not a real relationship, and you can report, block or unlink a character at any time.

The App's social features — posts, comments, stories, chat rooms, and direct messages — put you in contact with other real people. When interacting with other users, you agree not to:
Everyone on HiMania is 18 or older. What two adults choose to send each other in a private conversation is between them, and we do not screen private messages for adult content. You can block any user at any time, and every message can be reported. Sending explicit content to someone who has not asked for it is harassment, and we act on reports of it.
Two things are never allowed anywhere on HiMania, including in private messages: any sexual or exploitative content involving a person under 18, and real depictions of death, mutilation, or serious injury. These are blocked automatically, accounts responsible are permanently banned, and material involving minors is reported to the competent authorities.
Every post, comment, story, direct message, and user profile can be reported in-app, and you can block another user at any time to stop seeing their content and messages. We review reports and may remove content, or warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban an account that violates these Terms — at our discretion, and without prior notice for serious violations. Uploaded photos and videos are screened automatically before they are accepted. In the public parts of the App this covers everything listed above; in private messages between adults it covers only the two things named in the previous section (see our Privacy Policy for how this screening works).
Group chat messages from a deleted account may be kept, with the author link removed, so that other users' conversations are not left with holes — see our Privacy Policy's data retention section.
Not all moderation is done by us. A user who creates a chat room moderates that room, and may appoint other users as moderators of it. Inside that room, they may delete messages, unpin messages, and ban an account from the room.
Such a ban applies only to that room. It does not affect your account anywhere else in the App, and a room moderator has no access to your account details, your direct messages, or your activity outside their room. Bans that we issue are separate, may apply across the whole App, and are ours alone to make.
If you believe you were removed from a room unfairly, you may contact us at the address in Section 16.
A story is a photo or a short video shown to other users for 24 hours, after which it stops being shown. You can delete your own story before that. You can see who viewed it.
A story is subject to exactly the same rules as any other content in the App, and can be reported the same way. A story that has been reported is kept until we have reviewed the report, even if the 24 hours have passed — otherwise waiting a day would be enough to erase a rule-breaking story. Any account that meets the entry requirements may join the creator programme from within the App, by accepting its terms. The programme gives a public "creator" label and a small amount of extra visibility in the feed. In exchange:
A verification checkmark does not come with the label. It can be earned, based on public activity in the App, or it can come as part of a paid subscription. The two are deliberately shown in different colours so that other users can tell which is which. A checkmark confirms an account's standing in the App; it is not an identity check, and it does not mean we have verified who the person behind the account is.
Joining is voluntary, leaving is voluntary, and neither is a purchase.
The App may offer virtual currency ("Coins") and premium subscriptions. All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Virtual currency has no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Coins you spend in the Card Market or send to another user are spent; they cannot be converted back. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any in-app purchase offerings at any time.
By uploading photos or videos, or posting text, stickers, stories, or other content to the App — whether privately to the AI assistant, or publicly in the feed, stories, chat rooms, comments, or your profile — you grant Urban Inc Studio a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features. We do not claim ownership of your content. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload, and for understanding which of your content is private (assistant chat, direct messages) and which is visible to other users (posts, stories, comments, chat rooms, your public profile) — see Section 4 of our Privacy Policy.
A post can be sent to another user inside the App. What travels is a reference, not a copy: if you later delete the post, it stops being viewable from that message too.
All content, characters, designs, and software within the App are the property of Urban Inc Studio or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate for your needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urban Inc Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to emotional distress, data loss, or reliance on AI-generated content or interactions with other users.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
